Section 4 / Lesson 3 - Describing Purpose

     Below you will find questions to practice giving the purpose of each step when describing a process in your IELTS Writing Task One. Using the study notes and the class video, you should be able to answer these questions and be able to use the language in your IELTS writing test. First, we will look at which information we could give:

1. Why are blades large and flat?

2. What does the gearbox do?

3. What goes the generator do?

​

4. What does the transformer do?

​

5. Why do they increase the voltage?

​

Fill in the gaps using the language from the previous class.

​
